COUPLERS

RIS couplers have been designed to improve the performance of the Australian 254 mm (10”) head couplers. An extensive field review with rail operators and subsequent FEA analysis of all current, known failure areas for the couplers has been undertaken.

These were re-engineered to achieve major improvements in the capacity of the couplers resulting in significant improvements in the strength and fatigue life of the coupler.
